The Pavel Florensky School of the Theology and Ministry at Euclid University Extension offers two types of Master's degrees:
The MTM, discussed on this page, is designed to increase both the depth and breadth of theological training and to sharpen the skills necessary for scholarly work.
In a campus-based setting, a typical Th. M. represents 40 to 60-credit hours which requires about one and a half calendar year of full-time study. As a specialized distance extension, our 'accelerated knowledge' curriculum and methods enable most students to complete the degree in the same amount of time.
The development of mastery and competency in the major field is the primary purpose of this program.
The program consists of a customized sequence of advanced courses with a great flexibility for individualized roadmaps.
The School currently offers the following specializations:
- Eastern Orthodox theology +
- Roman Catholic theology *
- Protestant / Reformed theology *
- Comparative theology +
[* Enrollment may not always be available due to faculty limitations]
[ + Assigned faculty is an Orthodox priest of the Patriarchate of Constantinople ]
Admission Requirements and Process
Candidates for the program should possess an accredited baccalaureate with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 average.
Applicants must submit to the Admission Officer a formal letter to the faculty indicating reasons for pursuing an advanced graduate theological degree. The letter should also include the selection of a major field for the program and life objectives.
Program Organization and Evaluation
Content-richness and media diversity are the hallmark of the MTM / Th. M. degree. Beyond the set curriculum, the student has access to the extensive selection of courses offered by Euclid University Extension. The School relies on third party courseware, lectures and debates offered by such sources as:
- EWTN
- Alpha and Omega Ministries
